The movie is about girls' field hockey team in Chandigarh, India. The team consists of 6 players who are all from different cultural backgrounds, all being Indian girls. Although they have never played before together, their coach convinces them to play against the British team that has just returned from London after winning the South Asian Championship. The movie revolves around these 6 players' life during this period. During the movie, when they play against the British team in India, they do not give up and keep trying. When the British team hears that it is an all-girls' team in India, they initially think that it's a joke and that no girls play hockey in India, but when they hear that it is for real and decide to exploit this psychological advantage. The Indian players experience both racial humiliation and racial respect from their opponents. The result of the match is decided by a penalty shoot-out. The incident during this penalty shoot-out changed their lives again. They win their first international championship title despite having never even touched a hockey stick before in their lives. When their coach comes to ask them why they are still playing if the match was over, they reply that it is not over until they have hit the ball into the goal. They say that once you step onto the field, it is not about winning or losing but about playing your best at every moment. They receive a call from Prime Minister's Office to be part of national team and represent India in an international tournament. The girls face immense culture shock while staying in the hockey village. They experience racism and cultural conflict with other players, especially Julie (Emily Cox), who feels that Indians should not be there at all since there is no hockey in India unlike their own country (England). The girls of the team feel that Julie is constantly making fun of them and constantly insulting their country. However, they keep at it and try to respect her beliefs, but she constantly attempts to provoke them which makes them even more determined to do better than she does. When Osian (Kristina Bachchan) is asked what her favorite color is after winning the medal, she says blue because blue flowers are her favorite flower and there is a Hindu god who looks like a blue flower. The first international tournament they play in and win (against Chinese) would be historic as it's the first time an all-girls team has won an international tournament for South Asia. cfa1e77820
